Officers were called to a park in Cavell Crescent in the Temple Hill area of Dartford at 6.11pm yesterday following reports of a man acting suspiciously - and that a man had been assaulted.

In a warning posted to the Dartford Gossip Facebook page, apparently referring to the same incident, parents have been urged to keep an eye on their children after a man reportedly tried to snatch two young girls.

He is alleged to have asked the girls to help him look for his missing phone and promised them money if they did, before putting cash in their hands and pulling them by their tops.

"If it wasn't for the actions of a lady and the other kids that was at the park, he would have easily took them," the post continues.

"My partner chased him and he jumped into a white Vauxhall van."
