Dartford goalkeeper Deren Ibrahim and striker Andy Pugh have signed up for another season at Princes Park

Goalkeeper Deren Ibrahim and striker Andy Pugh have signed up for another season at Dartford.

Both have been key players for the Darts in National League South.

Manager Tony Burman said: "I am very happy that Andy and Deren have signed for next season. Their involvement in the academy meant it was important we got their situations sorted as soon as possible and we can now look ahead to the last month of the season and into the summer."

This has been Ibrahim's first season as Dartford's No.1 following the departure of Jason Brown at the end of last season. The 25-year-old has looked assured behind a young back-four and vindicated Burman's faith in handing him the gloves.

Ibrahim said: "I am delighted to have signed for the 2016/17 season.

"Hopefully the club can progress both on and off the pitch. Dartford is a massive club with a great infrastructure from the first team all the way down to the under-8s in the pre-academy.

"When Tony said he wanted to keep me for next year i jumped at the chance.

"Hopefully we can have a successful end to the season with a cup win and potential play-off games, then push on next season in whatever league we are in.

"A massive 'thank you' to all the fans who have been behind us this year and let's hope you can continue to get behind us in the remaining six league games.”

Pugh has looked back to his best this season, scoring 14 league goals from 25 starts.

Some of those goals have been of high quality and Pugh's hold-up play has been equally important in a campaign when he has managed to stay largely injury-free.

He said: "I am delighted to be staying for another year. I have really enjoyed my time here and everyone at the club is great. I look forward to helping Dartford get back to where it belongs in the top flight of non-league football, whether it be this season or next."
