Dartford FC sign Charlton Athletic defender Kenneth Yao on loan

Dartford have signed right-back Kenneth Yao on a month's loan from Charlton.

The defender joins as cover for Callum Driver, who's facing up to a month on the sidelines with a groin injury.

Yao has made two appearances for Charlton's first team this season, in the Carabao Cup and Checkatrade Trophy.

Dartford joint-manager Jamie Coyle said: "Our analysis guys sent over loads of games and we've done some scouting on him.

"Callum Driver's going to be another three or four weeks. He's got a few issues with his groin and pubic area so we're trying to get a replacement in who can offer the same quality going forward.

"I think Chez Isaac's two best games have been playing out of position at right-back so it'll be nice to get him back into midfield if we can and get Kenneth playing right-back.

"He really impressed in training. He's young, enthusiastic and he's got some experience playing in the first team as well.

"He's very quick and will offer us more of an attacking threat going forward."

Yao could make his Darts debut in the FA Cup second qualifying round tie at AFC Uckfield on Saturday.
