Welling United sign striker Ade Azzez from National League South rivals Dartford

Striker Ade Azeez has become the second Dartford player in a week to sign for rivals Welling.

The 28-year-old former Charlton and Dover forward has followed midfielder Tyrique Hyde in swapping Princes Park for Park View Road.

The lure of training three mornings a week was too much to resist for Azeez, who was sold the club by new director Howard Prosser.

"I got a call from Howard expressing his interest in me and about maybe signing for the club," Azeez told Welling's website.

"He sold the club to me, the plans going forward and going three mornings is a massive attraction.

"The ambitions matched my ambition, my son started school so I wanted to stay local to the area.

"I am a big powerful striker, I like to get in behind and score goals. I'm good in the air and I always work hard for the team."

Azeez netted 15 times in 43 appearances for Dartford this season but missed the second Dartford spot-kick in their penalty shoot-out defeat to Chippenham in the National League South play-offs earlier this month.

He enjoyed a prolific start to the season, scoring 11 times by early October, but he netted just once after November 20.
