Dartford FC joint-boss Adam Flanagan will take time over signing new keeper

Dartford will take their time in signing a new goalkeeper to replace Deren Ibrahim.

Saturday’s game against Truro could be Ibrahim’s last for the club before taking up a full-time coaching position at Charlton.

Darts have been forced into the transfer market but joint-manager Adam Flanagan has called for cool heads.

He said: “Deren has made himself available until we’ve got cover.

“We’d like to get someone in sooner rather than later but it’s a big decision and we need to make sure the appointment is the right one.

“We don’t want to make a decision in haste. There’s always keepers you’d like but can’t afford and some of the keepers are contracted.

“We’ve put a seven-day approach in for a keeper and we’ve enquired into the loan market as well.

“It’s a very important position for us. There will be a new face in goal but whether it will be this Saturday or next, we need to take our time and make the right decision.”
