Air ambulance lands in field after crash in Walmer

The air ambulance landed in a field near the coast after a cyclist came off their bike.

Crews from the aircraft joined police and paramedics in Gram’s Road, between Hawksdown Road and Liverpool Road, in Walmer at around 2.15pm.

The air ambulance was seen circling before landing in the field opposite Liverpool Road.

Dover District Cllr Chris Vinson (Con) spotted the air ambulance land after seeing two police cars with their lights on in Gram’s Road.

A spokesman for ambulance said: “This is reported as a fall from a bicycle in Grams Road. Ambulance crews attended and were joined at the scene by the Kent, Surrey, Sussex Air Ambulance Service.

“The female cyclist was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to William Harvey Hospital by road.”
