Tamarisk in Deal High Street damaged after car crashes into it

A High Street shop in Deal has been left badly damaged after a car ploughed into it in the early hours of this morning.

Tamarisk, a popular women's clothing shop, at 85 High Street has been severely damaged as a result of a crash.

Emma Ford, owner at Tamarisk said: "Someone drove into it and drove off at about four or five this morning.

"We've got people here now trying to clear it up and making it safe.

"Hopefully we will be able to open in a few days."

Police officers were called to help at the scene and the clear-up is ongoing.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Police were called at 5.13am on March 4 to reports a car has caused damage to a shop in High Street, Deal.

"Officers attended the scene but the vehicle was no longer there.

"No injuries were reported.

"Enquiries are on-going."
