It is now part of the community hub at number 3 Park Street above Age UK.

Chief Officer Jan Stewart said: "This is a very exciting time for our service, coming out of lockdown our clients need us more than ever and this new location in the middle of the town is ideal.

"The office is fully accessible on the first floor via the lift or stairs.

"We offer the same full services as before, offering free independent impartial advice to all. We aim to ensure that our clients do not suffer through a lack of knowledge of their rights."

It will be open 9.30 to 3.00pm every Tuesday and Wednesday until the end of September. After then advisors will be operating on Mondays too.

The national charity's independent advisors are tasked with helping people know their rights and find solutions to problems that are sometimes complicated or intimidating.

In November, following eight months of pandemic-related turmoil, the charity announced it had supported more than a quarter of a million people with advice on Universal Credit since March 2020.

Seven in 10 of those had never come to Citizens Advice before.

On a local level the Dover and Deal branch - with offices in Deal and Dover - have dealt with 10685 issues directly in 2019/20, got a collective £6,68,373 pounds of debts written off and assigned 695 Foodbank vouchers in the same period.

Ms Stewart added: "We also have our location in Maison Dieu Gardens Dover operational Monday to Thursday 9.30 to 3pm.
