A man from Snowdown near Dover is expected to appear in court today charged with a fire arms offence following an incident in Folkestone.

Robert Goodey, 29, of The Crescent, was arrested by armed police on Saturday afternoon after the gun incident in Downs Road, Folkestone on Friday evening.

He was arrested at an address in Plimsole Avenue and charged with possessing a shotgun with intent to endanger life.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Folkestone magistrates.
