Dover secured second place in Blue Square South following a goalless draw with Staines at Crabble on Saturday.
Although Whites were held, a 5-2 defeat for Chelmsford at Havant ensured it was enough for them to finish as runners-up.
It means Andy Hessenthaler’s side will have home advantage in the semi-final second leg and final of the play-offs should they reach it.
They will now travel to Woking on Tuesday, before the return at Crabble on Saturday. The final is scheduled for Thursday, May 6.
There were few chances during the final league game of the campaign, although Staines applied some late pressure.
The visitors hit the post in stoppage time, but the game ended all-square.
