Dover Athletic slumped to their fifth defeat in seven games with a disappointing display against Weston-super-Mare in the Blue Square Bet Conference South on Saturday.

The Whites' poor run of form is troubling chairman Jim Parmenter who, according to the club's official website, is to meet manager Martin Hayes in coming days in a bid to rescue their assault on the play-off places.

The home side ultimately paid the price for the Seagulls' 25th minute strike, scored by Kane Ingram after goalkeeper Ross Flitney attempted to punch the ball clear but missed.

Dover squandered a chance to level the game mid-way through the second half when a penalty awarded for an alleged Weston handball was missed by the Whites' 23-goal top scorer Adam Birchall (pictured).
