Dover Athletic manager Martin Hayes has added to his striking options with the signing of Donovan Simmonds from Nuneaton.

Simmonds, pictured, is no stranger to Kent having made three appearances for Gillingham in the 2007-08 season. The 22-year-old has also played in Scotland for SPL side Kilmarnock and Division 1 club Greenock Morton after starting his professional career at Coventry.

Hayes told the club’s official website: “Donovan has been training with us this week and we’ve been impressed. We need to bolster the frontline.

“I see Donovan as someone who will create a lot of chances for us. He has pace and will be someone the fans enjoy watching.”

The striker is set to be included in the Whites’ squad for Saturday’s game at Maidenhead, but is cup tied for January’s FA Cup third round clash at Huddersfield after playing in Nuneaton’s defeat to Lincoln in the first round.

Bobby Aisen, Jason Norville and Nicky Nicolau, meanwhile, have all been released by the club.
