Dover manager Martin Hayes is telling the club's supporters not to write off their season yet.

Last weekend’s home defeat to Weston-super-Mare - their third in a row - left Dover eight points off the Blue Square Bet South play-off race, but it is a gap Hayes feels his team can bridge.

Dover travel to second-placed Chelmsford on Saturday before heading to Eastleigh, who occupy sixth place in the table, on Monday evening.

"It was a poor performance on Saturday and we threw away another three points," said Hayes, pictured.

"We took a lot of stick for it because it was a poor performance. People have been spoilt at Dover and they’re not used to seeing what they saw on Saturday.

"The players have to react now. We’ve let the fans down and we need to regroup.

"We’re not pressing the panic button because we’re not far off and it’s not over yet. We’ve still got nearly a third of the season to play."

Olly Schulz remains out with a hamstring injury, but Jon Wallis, who missed last week’s game because of the birth of his child, returns. Young James Whyte, on loan from Brentford, could be on the bench.
