TheatreWorks of Deal chosen to perform for National Theatre

A drama group from Deal has been selected to perform its new play in central London.

TheatreWorks is one of 10 groups nationwide taking part in the 2022 National Theatre Connections Festival, at the South Bank in June and July.

It will perform Variations, a new play by Katie Hims, at the Dorfman Theatre from 7pm on Thursday, June 30.

It had first performed the play at the Connections partner venue the Marlowe Theatre Canterbury.

Variations centres on a 13-year-old girl who wants her life to be different but when it changes wants to return to normality.

TheatreWorks was created in 2016 and provides roles for people such as actors sound and light operators and costume and set designers..

Connections, now in its 27th year, champions and promotes the talent of young people across the UK.
