Magician Etienne Pradier in Cancer Research UK auction of promises with estate agent Nigel Colebrook of Bright & Bright

A magic £10,000 was raised in one evening thanks to a mouth watering meal and an auction of promises.

Sponsored by Deal estate agents, Bright & Bright, the event in aid of Cancer Research UK was held at the Astor Theatre on Friday.

The audience of up to 100 people enjoyed a entertainment bill which included live gypsy jazz style music from the Barrett Brothers, magic from Kent based magician Etienne, and a four course meal from the Dining Club.

Etienne performed the auction with humour and skill to provide an amazing outcome with the 26 Lots averaging a sale price in excess of £230 per lot. The most expensive promise was the private visit to the Tower of London, donated by Yeoman Warder Andy Merry, which alone raised just under £700.
