A woman was treated for smoke inhalation following a fire at a retirement homes complex this morning.
It broke out at Ceasar Court, in Mongeham Road in Deal at about 9.10am.
Two fire engines were sent to the building, which includes apartments for over 55-year-olds and has staff on site.
The blaze started in a bathroom, and a cause has yet to be established.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a fire in a bathroom in Mongeham Road in Deal.
"Two fire engines were sent to the scene and crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire, before ventilating the property.
"One casualty was passed into the care of South East Coast Ambulance paramedics for smoke inhalation."
Ambulance confirmed a woman was treated at the scene but did not need to go hospital.
A spokesman for Orbit, which runs Caesar Court, said: “We can confirm there was a minor fire at our Independent Living scheme, Caesar
Court, this morning which the Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended.
"The fire was contained in the bathroom of an apartment and one customer was treated by paramedics on site but did not need to attend the hospital.
"No one was required to evacuate from the building.
"We will work with the Fire and Rescue Service to determine the cause of the fire."
