New Dover signing Terry Dixon got his chance in the second half against Staines on Saturday after joining on loan from League 2 side Bradford City.

Dixon, pictured, set up Dover’s third, an own goal scored by home skipper Danny Gordon.

The former Republic of Ireland under-21 international, who turns 22 next month, has also had spells with West Ham and Stevenage, and came through the Tottenham academy.

He signed a one-year deal with Bradford in August and was immediately loaned out to Conference North side FC Halifax Town.

Forster added: "The Bradford manager Phil Parkinson is a friend of mine.

"Terry is a good player but has lost his way for one reason or another. He has got pedigree but is too good for this level and showed his quality against Staines, making one goal and creating a couple of other chances."

Dixon has agreed a month’s loan with the option of another. Leon Redwood has returned to Brighton after ending his loan spell early.

Looking ahead to the two matches against Eastbourne, Forster said: "They are two big games and we have to keep winning because the teams above us are all in a good run of form."
