A WOMAN knocked down in a hit-and-run incident just before Christmas has been told she will need to spend at least another four months in hospital.

Cicely Hearn, 83, was struck by a car in London Road, Deal, just before 5pm on Friday, December 22.

It left her with serious head and leg injuries. She has had an operation on her knee at the QEQM Hospital in Margate.

Police investigators have managed to identify that the offending car was a light or white coloured Peugeot 205.

They are appealing for anyone who saw it being driven recklessly to get in touch.

They would also like to hear from any garages or mechanics who may have had a light/white Peugeot 205 in with front end damage including broken headlights.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kent Police's serious crash investigation unit on 01622 798537.
