The Music Centre, by Deal Music and Arts, returns to Goodwin Academy after Covid-19 lockdowns

Tuition and practice sessions for voice and instrument have returned after the pandemic restrictions.

The Music Centre, by Deal Music and Arts, was squashed soon after its beginning in early 2020 by the coronavirus lockdowns.

Now it is back at Goodwin Academy in Haulton Road, Deal, from next Tuesday, September 28.

The sessions are from then on every week on Tuesday afternoons and evenings.

The Music Centre includes a beginners group Bold As, (for brass and woodwind), a choir, a ukulele group and an all-ages community ensemble. Bursaries are available for funding.

DMA education director Peter Cook said: “At last we can now get back to playing music together. Others can come and join us."

The group is also continuing to developing its online resources which were used heavily during lockdown and have to date more than 20,000 hits.

Musicians as they practice and develop will eventually perform in public in community events, dates and places to be confirmed.
