Lifesavers in Deal ask for your help

A voluntary emergency services organisation in Deal is calling for votes since it have been shortlisted from more than a thousand entries for the Lloyds Bank Community Fund 2014 award.

Community First Responders is one of four good causes shortlisted in the community in contention to receive a £3,000 grant. Other groups could be given £2,000, £1,000 or £500 depending on the votes received.

Deal Community First Responders are volunteers trained to attend emergency calls received by the ambulance service and give life-saving care until the ambulance arrives.

Responder Beverley-Jayne Last said: “The Lloyds Bank Community Fund will make a huge difference to us. It will enable us to purchase essential life-saving equipment such as defibrillators and vital signs measuring devices, thereby buying vital minutes for anyone suffering a life-threatening injury or illness.

"This will make a difference to all of the people in Deal, Walmer and the surrounding area.

“Please vote for us to benefit from the Lloyds Community Fund award.”

The Lloyds Bank Community Fund gives grants to up to 1,400 local good causes in 350 communities. It was set up to help people across the country to have a positive impact at the heart of their community.

The bank is inviting everyone to vote for the causes they’d most like to support. Members of the public can vote for their preferred community group online, by text or Twitter.
