Dover Athletic recorded a 4-1 win over Maidenhead on Tuesday night to return to the Blue Square Bet South play-off places with a fourth straight win.

Whites snatched the lead just before the break when Agustin Battipiedi burst forward and fired in a 25-yard shot which beat keeper Sam Beasant - son of former England stopper Dave - but came back off the crossbar where Donovan Simmonds (pictured) was on hand to slam home the rebound from close range.

The hosts levelled after the break with a deflected shot which wrong-footed Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz in the Whites goal.

Ruiz also saved a free-kick as the home side piled on the pressure but Simmonds broke free at the other end and was only foiled by a recovery tackle.

Whites won a penalty soon after when James Walker burst into the box, only to be brought down. Walker stepped up to fire the ball past Beasant.

Walker made the points safe with his second three minutes later, getting on the end of a low cross from Simmonds who had waltzed to the byline before cutting back.

Substitute Harry Baker scored an injury-time fourth to haul Dover up to fifth on goal difference, getting on the end of a good cross from Leon Redwood.
