A 44-year-old man has been arrested after a daytime burglary in which cash and jewellery was reportedly stolen.

Officer were contacted at 1.30pm yesterday following the incident in Thornbridge Road in Deal.

A spokesman said: "It was reported that a property had been broken into earlier that day and jewellery, alcohol and cash had been stolen.

"A 44-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of burglary and remains in custody while inquiries continue."
