A Deal man has presented a woman who helps teach the public how to save lives, with three new manikins.
Adrian Friend made this gesture after attending a Heartstart: Emergency Life Support course in Deal, which taught him how to help a person suffering cardiac arrest, a heart attack, a stroke or who is choking.
He is so committed to the idea of more members of the public learning that simple skills save lives, that he presented trainer Beverley-Jayne Last with three new Resus manikins.
Mrs Last said: “These new manikins will enable us to deliver a more comprehensive course and help answer some of those questions that trouble worried parents and grandparents.”
Cllr Wayne Elliott and Deal and Dover MP Charlie Elphicke, who are also supporters of the British Heart Foundation initiative were at the presentation. Mr Elphicke also urges members of the public to sign up for the free two-hour course and learn what it takes to save a life.
Mrs Last added: “We are very grateful for all of their support.”
The courses are held twice a month at the RMA Club, The Strand in Deal. For details call Beverley-Jayne on 01304 374883.
