Deal Town have appointed a new management team for their reserve side.

Former Deal defender Gary Miller will run the Bulmers Cider Kent League Division 2 team in partnership with Colin Bryant, who has been a member of Dover Athletic’s youth section coaching staff for several years.

Deal chairman Stuart McCluskey says the club will adopt a new approach regarding the reserve side this season.

He said: "There are a going to be a lot of players from our academy in the side, with the idea that it will help their progression into the first team.

"There will be a couple of old heads in the side as well, because you can’t expect a complete team of kids to cope in the Kent League but we want to make the reserve side a proper ‘breeding ground’ of young talent for the first team.

"Gary obviously brings a lot of experience through his long playing career, while Colin is a Level 2 coach who is keen to progress from youth team football to senior management."
