Nicky Forster insists winning promotion from Blue Square Bet South is ‘the only thing that matters’ this season.

Whites have won four league games on the spin under Forster and are unbeaten in all five games he’s overseen following Tuesday’s 4-1 win at Maidenhead, which returned Dover to the play-off places on goal difference.

Forster (pictured) said: "I was delighted with the boys. They were fantastic.

"We had a slight change of formation and personnel and I think, other than a spell at the start of the second half, we dominated the match.

"The opening goal took a while to come but it came from an unbelievable strike from Batty from 35 yards. That little bit of class and invention gives us a spark that changes the game."

He added: "We won’t get carried away. We’re going to keep our feet on the ground. We’re on a good run but a couple of bad results will put us back down there with the pack in eighth or ninth.

"The league is the only thing that matters to us and I’d rather get promoted than anything else."

George Purcell (unwell) will be assessed ahead of the trip to Boreham Wood on Saturday, with Harry Baker in line to replace him.
