Linda Christie of Rehab Personal Training to give rehabilitation technique demonstration to stroke and neurological injury survivors

A personal trainer and fitness instructor is giving a talk and demonstration on a rehabilitation technique for stroke and neurological injury survivors.

Anyone who has survived a stroke or neurological injury is welcome to watch Linda Christie's presentation at the local Stroke support group in Deal on Friday, January 3.

She will be showing how her physical treatment uses a combination of strength training and task specific training which she says has helped her patients in Deal and across Kent regain sensory feeling and movement after being told they would not see much of an improvement once they finished with hospital and home physiotherapy.

Ms Christie, 35, formerly owned fitness business Studio 30 at Deal Welfare Club before giving it up to focus on her Level 4 stroke rehabilitation/neurological injury qualification.

She trained with Action for Rehabilitation after Neurological Injury (ARNI) who, upon qualifying, offered her a position working self employed under their umbrella.

She formed Rehab Personal Training in August 2018 and works by offering home visits or visits to care homes.

Ms Christie is also trained in exercise referral and works with people with other medical issues such as Parkinsons Disease, COPD, hypermobility, arthritis, chronic pain.
