A spokesman for Kent Police said the car had been on patrol at the time and enquiries are being made to find out why it smashed into the wall.

The spokesman said: "Shortly before 5.25pm a Kent Police vehicle on patrol was involved in a collision with a wall at the junction of Lydia Road and St Richard’s Road, Deal.

"Nobody was injured in the incident and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision."
