Sandwich batsman Vishaul Singh pulls during his innings of 74 at Tenterden

Sandwich Town slipped to their third defeat in three matches in Kent League Division 1, losing by three wickets at Tenterden.

Yet they had looked in a strong position after posting a total of 246-5. Vishaul Singh top scored with 74 after figuring in a third-wicket stand of 134 with Robert Goatham (60).

The Sandwich bowlers, however, were then undone by a superb unbeaten 122 by Tenterden’s No3 Chris Vernon, who guided his side to victory with just one ball to spare. Craig Spanton and Michael Williams picked up three wickets apiece.

At The Butts, Tenterden 2nds gained a winning draw against Sandwich 2nds in Division 1 2nd XI. Tenterden totalled 192-7 and Sandwich replied with 185-8.
