Sarah Everard murder investigation: Woman arrested in Deal on suspicion of assisting offender has bail extended

A woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender as part of the investigation into Sarah Everard's death has had her bail extended.

The suspect, aged in her 30s, was arrested in Deal at the same time as alleged murderer and serving police officer Wayne Couzens.

Couzens, 48, will enter a plea to charges of kidnapping and murdering marketing executive Sarah, 33, at The Old Bailey in July and could stand trial in October.

Sarah's body was found near an abandoned leisure complex in Great Chart near Ashford last month, a week after she disappeared while walking home in south London.

By that point Couzens was already in custody on suspicion of her murder and was later charged with killing her.

In mid-March Metropolitan Police officers investigating the case had swarmed into Kent to search other sites such as in Dover and Sandwich.

The woman was initially bailed and today she was rebailed to a date in June, the Met confirmed.
