POLICE have named two men killed in a head-on collision involving two cars on the A258 between Deal and Sandwich.

They were taxi driver David Parks, 35, of Mill Road, Deal, and 18-year-old Christopher Collins, of Mill Lane, Worth, near Sandwich. Both men received fatal injuries when a white Ford Fiesta and a black Mitsubishi Carisma taxi crashed at about 12.55am on Saturday.

Mr Parks, a taxi driver for 15 years, leaves his partner, Sally, and their 13-month-old baby, Daniel. His parents, Joy and Robin, also live in Deal. His colleagues have placed black ribbons on their taxi aerials as a mark of respect.

A collection has been organised for Sally and Daniel. People can make donations at Jacks Cars in South Street. The funeral will be held at St Mary's Church on Friday, October 18, at 1pm.

Anyone who saw the crash or the manner of driving before the tragedy is asked to contact PC Chris Brickley of Deal police on 01622 690690.
