More than 70 people have pledged to take part in this year’s Boxing Day Dip via the event’s new online booking page.

The new digital enrolment page has been a great success but the organisers have stressed that anyone can reserve their space by phone.

This year will be unlike any other, with organiser Margaret Edwards saying they are “more organised” than before. Dippers can expect to gather in a designated starting area and there is a changing area too.

Four businesses have kindly pledged a portion of their profits to the event, which is supporting mental health support group Talk It out and the Sir Norman Wisdom dementia suite at the Deal Centre.

In addition, groups can raise cash for their own charities.

To book your place at the Boxing Day Dip, phone Margaret on 07836 669079 or Peter on 07540 973162 and they will take your details. Entry is £5 per person.

It takes place at 11am on Boxing Day on the North side of Deal Pier. Dippers are asked to arrive at 10.30am and wear shoes. Don’t forget your towel.
