Winning lottery ticket 'claimed'

Someone has claimed to have the winning £3.7 million lottery ticket which was bought in Dover in December.

Camelot, who operate The National Lottery, said it was now validating the claim.

The ticket, for the Lotto draw on December 2, scooped the top prize of £3,786,303, no-one had come forward to claim it ... until now.

A lottery spokesman said: "The claim is currently going through the process of validation, which includes checks to ensure the Games Rules Terms and Conditions are adhered to and the integrity of The National Lottery is protected.

"The time taken to validate varies depending on individual circumstances. Once this process has been completed further details will be released."
