Woman crushed by reversing car

A 48-YEAR-OLD woman is in hospital with crush injuries after an elderly man reversed his car into her.

The woman was pinned to a brick pillar in Park Street, Deal, by a maroon Ford Fiesta which mounted the kerb.

Her husband was also hit by the car but suffered minor injuries. The incident took place at around 11am on Saturday.

Eyewitness David Webb from Walmer said: "The woman was pinned against the wall. She was conscious but in trauma and in great pain.

"The elderly couple in the car were helped out of the car and taken away."

The woman, who is from Walmer, is at QEQM in Margate. Her injuries are serious, but not thought to be life-threatening.
