New golf tournament for East Kent

The Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club at Deal and the Royal St George's GC at Sandwich are to jointly stage a new annual 72-hole amateur tournament, to be called the South East of England Links Championship.

Entry will be limited to 144 amateur golfers with a handicap of 2 or better, and the inaugural event will be played from May 13-15, 2010.

One round will be played at Royal St George's on May 13 followed by another round at Royal Cinque Ports on 14 May.

The 40 lowest scores over these 36 holes, and any tying for 40th place, will qualify for the final 36 holes to be played at Royal St George's on May 15
