Toby Trice wins all three races at Brands Hatch in Ginetta GT Academy

Deal racer Toby Trice made a stunning start to the season in the all-new Ginetta GT Academy.

Racing at Brands Hatch, the 30-year-old won all three races.

High speed train driver Trice, driving for SVG Motorsport, was the one to catch from the off at the Kent circuit as he made pole in the inaugural series which took place around the grand prix circuit.

The drivers were greeted by heavy rain as they started Saturday’s opening race but Trice quickly adapted, moving six seconds clears by the third lap. A safety car period wiped his lead out but he stayed out infront and the race was finished with Trice once again behind the safety car to deservedly take the opening win.

There were two races on the Sunday, and in the first of those once again the safety car was deployed following an incident and when the action resumed just two laps were left, to set up a grandstand finish.

Trice was running third with a lap remaining but took the victory in thrilling fashion, moving up to second and then overtaking Roy Alderslade on the final corner to take the win.

Trice, who is an ambassador for Fertility Network UK, completed a hat-trick of wins in race three as the pressure on leader Ravi Ramyead put him in a spin and the Kent man took the chequered flag.

The weekend was the first time Trice had been able to meet many of his sponsors face-to-face due to Covid restrictions limiting them to video calls only. He was well supported to with friends and family in attendance.

“What a way to start the race season,” he said. “I can’t quite believe it! It was so great to have all of my sponsors there and I’m so pleased I was able to put on a great show for them. This was absolutely a team effort and it’s incredible to see all that hard work pay off.”

He added: “I poured my heart and my soul into this race weekend and I’m overwhelmed by the level of support I’ve had.

“I’m so proud to be racing to raise awareness for male fertility and to bring home three wins is just amazing. Thank you to my friends, family, sponsors and SVG Motorsport for being part of this journey.”

The GT Academy action resumes at Donington Park on July 10/11.
