Dover 13 Sidcup 0

Dover moved up to fifth in London 2 South after a 13-0 victory over struggling Sidcup.

Sidcup set their stall out to disrupt Dover in a physical manner and the ploy seemed to be working when prop Rick Stanley reacted to a punch and saw red.

Both sides suffered further losses when opposing scrum-halves were sin binned, but Dover took the lead on 37 minutes when Martyn Beaumont ran in from 20 yards out.

Blair Charge kicked the extras.

Two penalties from Charge after the break sealed the points.

“My forwards were superb,” commented coach Graham Tonks. “They put their bodies on the line in difficult circumstances and refused to be bullied by a more than physical pack.”

Dover: Moore, Tomlinson, Stanley, Sluman (Cooper), D Tonks, Collins, Foster, Vick, Murray, Beaumont, L Tonks, O’Donnell (Townley), Dean, Mackintosh, Charge. Sub not used: Robinson.
