Winger Adam Mekki didn’t get much of an opportunity to show Dover fans what he could do during his short-lived career at Crabble last season.
But that could come back to haunt Whites if he plays for Tranmere Rovers against them at Prenton Park this Saturday.
Mekki only played 13 minutes of football after arriving from Barnet in January and that was as a second-half substitute in the league clash against Lincoln three months later.
And Mekki, who has scored once in 17 appearances for Tranmere this season, certainly doesn’t hold any grudges after his disappointing lack of game time at Dover.
He said: “Football is a tough business and it didn’t work out for me at Dover because the side was going so well during my time there.
“You don’t change a successful side for the sake of it, so I just had to accept it and get on with life. That’s the way it can go in this game.
“Now I’ve been given a chance with Tranmere, I am loving playing regular football and life is good."
