Dover moved up a place to 10th by ending a three-game losing streak in London 1 South after beating relegation-haunted Hove at Crabble.

While he was thrilled to get the points, coach Graham Tonks wasn’t happy about all aspects of the six-try display.

He said: “We were doing it well and led 21-7 at one stage. I thought we were cruising.

“But we let them back into it because we didn’t work hard enough when we didn’t have the
ball.

“We went try for try, penalty for penalty after that but we should not have needed to.

“To their credit, they kept coming at us but that was to be expected as they are second-bottom and fighting for survival.

“They need every point they can to try and stay up so we did well to prevent them getting a bonus point.”

Harry Moore and Ben Sedgwick both scored doubles for Sharks, while Aaron Cooper and Buster Collins also crossed. Blair Charge kicked all the extras.

Dover have this week off due to the internationals being played, before making the trip to Havant on March 21.
