Dover 2 Harlow 0

Dover put Saturday’s shock defeat at Harrow behind them with a comfortable 2-0 win over Harlow on Tuesday night.

Frannie Collin gave the hosts the perfect start after three minutes and Giuliano Grazioli scored his first goal for the club just past the hour as the Whites extended their lead at the top of the Ryman League Premier Division to 10 points.

“Frannie’s goal was a training ground move, a nice set-piece and a good finish, but I was disappointed we didn’t build from there,” boss Andy Hessenthaler said.

Dover’s hard work on the training field yielded dividends after just 180 seconds. Lee Browning allowed Jon Wallis’ corner to run past him into the path of Collin and he curled exquisitely into the top corner.

The hosts made the points safe after 61 minutes when Shaun Welford, so badly missed at Harrow, out-muscled his defender and crossed into the box for Grazioli to control and steer past James Hassell.

Dover: Wilkinson, Fish, Rogers, Hill, Ball, Moore, Wallis (Gore 46), Grazioli (Hughes 69), Welford, Collin, Browning (Bailey 76). Substitutes not used: Schulz, Whitehouse. Attendance: 751.
