Dover Athletic sign striker Dominic Poleon from Newport County and goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer from Charlton Athletic

Dover Athletic boss Andy Hessenthaler has made two loan signings, increasing his options at both ends of the pitch.

Striker Dominic Poleon arrives from League 2 side Newport County while 20-year-old keeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer has joined Whites from Championship side Charlton Athletic.

Both loans run until the end of the National League season, although Poleon's deal is subject to international clearance.

The 26-year-old Londoner began his career at Leeds United where he scored three times in 29 appearances.

While at Elland Road he also had loan spells in League 1 with Bury and Sheffield United.

Poleon joined Oldham Athletic in 2014 scoring 11 goals in 68 games before joining AFC Wimbledon two years later.

He managed a return of 13 goals in 49 matches before another move took him to Bradford.

There he managed seven goals in 37 games before Crawley came calling in August 2018.

He played 30 times for the Sussex club last season, scoring five goals, before joining Newport last September.

Keeper Maynard-Brewer signed a new two-year deal with Charlton last July.

The-20-year-old, born in Australia, made his senior debut in the Checkatrade Trophy against Swansea City Under-21s last season and has appeared on the first-team bench on numerous occasions over the past two seasons.

He has also enjoyed loan spells with Chelmsford City, Hampton & Richmond and Dulwich Hamlet.
Whites, whose 4-2 defeat at Halifax on Tuesday, ended a three-match unbeaten run, are at Stockport County on Saturday.

They go into the game 12th, just three points outside the play-offs.

Meanwhile, young midfielder Joe Bedford has joined National League South side Dulwich Hamlet on a month's loan.
