Striker Shaun Welford makes a welcome return to the Dover squad for Tuesday night's Ryman League Premier Division game with Harlow, but skipper Alan Pouton is facing at least a fortnight on the sidelines after damaging his hamstring in Saturday's defeat at Harrow Borough.

Welford was suspended at the weekend and boss Andy Hessenthaler said the Whites missed their in-form front man as they lost 3-0 - their worst result of the season.

"Shaun's been playing well of late and we definitely missed him on Saturday," Hessenthaler said. "He is back in the squad and has a good chance of playing."

While Welford's return is good news for Dover, influential skipper Pouton's injury comes at a bad time with the busy festive schedule fast approaching.

"Pouton's injury is a big blow for us," Hessenthaler admitted. "He's damaged his hamstring and will be out for at least two weeks."

The Whites have also brought back former keeper David Wilkinson on loan from Crystal Palace. Hessenthaler explained: "John Whitehouse needs some competition. We've brought David in for a month and he is in the squad for tonight's game."
