The University of Greenwich, a TEF Gold institution, has been teaching at the Medway Campus on the iconic site of the former Royal Naval Barracks Chatham since 1994.

The Faculty of Engineering and Science has welcomed continued growth within its portfolio of STEM courses taught on the Medway Campus over the last 30 years.

.

New undergraduate degree courses in science were announced in 2023, along with the Certificate of Higher Education courses (one-year Level 4 courses) Construction Site Supervisor and Construction Design and Build Technician.

The Faculty has now announced further new courses for 2024 at Medway.

Engineering Manufacturing Technician is a CertHE course that will qualify learners for valuable roles in the engineering and manufacturing industry. Meanwhile, a two-year Food and Drink Engineer DipHE (equivalent to the first two years of a degree course, Levels 4 and 5), will qualify students to work as engineers in the food and drink industry, improving and maintaining the equipment, machines and processes needed in the production of food and drink.

These new courses have been designed to meet the current needs of big UK industries and are a great opportunity to retrain or upskill. Interest is also being welcomed from employers wishing to sponsor their employees to gain these qualifications.

Also new for 2024 is the undergraduate degree course BSc Computing for Emerging Technologies that will allow students to delve into the design and development of complex computing systems and gain key skills to take forwards into a variety of careers in technology.

.

For postgraduate learners, a conversion Master’s degree course already running at the University’s Greenwich Campus will now also be available to study at the Medway Campus. MSc Data Science and its Applications provides an opportunity for learners with no background or degree in a STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) subject to gain a qualification in data science. Scholarships are available for eligible students for 2024.

The Faculty of Engineering and Science provides the opportunity for those living in and around Medway to pursue higher education courses – including postgraduate degrees and research degrees in a wide range of disciplines within science, engineering and technology.

Open Days are a fantastic opportunity to see the unique Medway Campus and explore the university’s course offerings.
