Faversham burglar Keir Jackson jailed for stealing tools worth £12,000

A burglar who stole £12,000 worth of tools has been jailed after police found his fingerprint on a barrel.

Keir Jackson, 39, swiped the haul from a business in Faversham in early August 2020, after breaking in by forcing open some doors.

The owners alerted the police, and crime scene investigators recovered Jackson’s fingerprint from a barrel he had moved at the property.

Jackson, of Lower Road, Faversham, was arrested on September 17 and was later charged with the burglary.

He pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court, and on Friday was sentenced to two years and three months in prison.

Investigating officer PC Daniel Evans said: "This type of burglary can prevent employees from doing their work and affect potential profits for a business.

"Jackson chose not to consider the impact his actions would have and merely considered the money he could make from selling the stolen property.

"He should be ashamed of his conduct and fully deserves a prison sentence."
