Smash hit film Mamma Mia is in its fifth week at the Royal Cinema in Faversham to the amazement of Peter Baldock and Michael Harlow who have owned it for 14 years.

The film, based on Abba’s songs, started on July 10 when more than 100 people queued to see it.

The online booking system could not cope with the demand and crashed on the first night and the mad rush has continued ever since with staff working 15 hours a day and daily deliveries of popcorn, sweets and drinks.

Michael said: “It has got to the point where even friends and previous staff have come back to help us.

"It has most definitely gone into our top 10 films.”
