Traffic on M2 coastbound between J5 Sittingbourne and J6 Faversham due to broken down vehicle

Drivers were stuck in queues of more than six miles this morning after a broken-down vehicle caused a lane closure.

The coast-bound carriageway was down to one lane between J5 for Sittingbourne and J6 for Faversham during rush hour.

At one point, delays were estimated to be up to 45 minutes.

The road has since fully reopened and traffic had returned to normal by 10am.
