A one-car crash has blocked part of the A2 near to the Canterbury turn-off, causing traffic to back-up towards Faversham.
Police and fire crews were called out at around 11am.
Firefighters extinguished a small fire in the car engine but had left the scene by 11.20am.
There are not believed to be any injuries.
Traffic is still at a standstill as officers deal with debris in the road.
