Rogue sheep visit Morrisons and Tesco in Faversham as they run through town

Onlookers watched in shear amazement as two brazen sheep roamed through Faversham today.

It is reported the animals visited both Tesco and Morrisons in the town this morning and darted through traffic as people desperately tried to capture them.

Angela Goodwin Long, 54, witnessed the sheep roaming South Road at about 8.45am this morning while she was taking her son to school.

“We were sitting in traffic and out of nowhere came these two massive sheep - they weren’t little ones and it was so funny,” she said.

“It was by the Morrison’s car park but apparently they had been to Tesco as well.

“Everyone has been saying they were doing their Christmas shopping. They didn’t look stressed or anything.

“They had plenty of people coming up behind them but they just couldn’t catch them.

“One woman looked like she was about to collapse.

“The sheep didn’t look distressed at all - they seemed to find it quite a good game.”

She said the sheep had also visited Davington Primary School and she is hoping they are safe.

Following their charge through town, the sheep were caught on camera by Tesco security guard Howard Farmer standing in an electric vehicle bay in the supermarket car park.

A police spokesperson said the force was called at 9am to the stray sheep in Quay Lane, Faversham.

"Officers attended the scene where the sheep had been placed in a field while the owner was contacted," they added.
