Suspected migrants rescued near Folkestone after travelling across Channel

A group of 13 suspected migrants have been rescued off the coast of Kent.

The group, including children, were spotted in a small boat travelling across the English Channel.

Border Force and HM Coastguard were deployed at 9.41aa and met the group near Folkestone yesterday morning (Sunday).

It is not known where the 13 people are from, but they are now in the process of being transferred to the Kent Intake Unit.

This is one of the constant stream of migrant incident involving those using small boats over the last year.

There have been other incidents at Deal, Romney Marsh, Hythe, Thanet and Dover.
