M20 closed for resurfacing between Maidstone and Folkestone

Drivers are being reminded that the M20 will be closed for several nights from tomorrow - as resurfacing work along a 30-mile stretch begins.

Highways England said there will be work between junctions four and six at Maidstone and between junctions seven (Maidstone) and 13 (Folkestone).

Work starts tomorrow night with the road closed overnight for five nights.

The coastbound carriageway closures between junctions four and six will start tomorrow and will be closed between 8pm and 6am Monday to Friday nights inclusive.

Another closure will be in place between 8pm and 6am next Sunday night (April 9).

A diversion via the A228, M2 and A229 will be in place.

From tomorrow night, slip roads on the motorway between junction seven and junction 13 will be resurfaced.

The work will "improve safety" on the carriageway, Highways England say.

The following closures will be in place:

  • Monday 3 April: eastbound entry slip road at junction 7 (Maidstone)
  • Tuesday 4 April: eastbound entry slip road at junction 10 (Ashford)
  • Wednesday 5 April: westbound exit slip road at junction 4 (Ayelsford)
  • Thursday 6 April: westbound entry slip road at junction 12 (Cheriton)
  • Friday 7 April: eastbound exit slip road at junction 7 (Maidstone)

Diversions will be in place and signposted at each junction.
