Prices for homes at a new seaside development have been revealed - with the cheapest one-bed flat costing almost half-a-million pounds.
The mix of apartments, penthouses and townhouses are currently being built along Folkestone seafront on land where the former Rotunda amusement park once stood.
Known as Shoreline, it is the first phase of a wider masterplan to transform the seaside town.
Now, the cost of the cheapest home in the block, a one-bed apartment, has been revealed as starting at a hefty £475,000.
Prices for a two-bedroom apartment will start from £685,000.
In comparison, flats in Folkestone sold for an average of £213,414 last year, according to Rightmove.
Prices for the townhouses and penthouses have not been revealed.
Work on Shoreline started in 2020, and was delayed by the Covid pandemic.
It is being delivered by Folkestone Harbour and Seafront Development Company, led by billionaire philanthropist Sir Roger De Haan.
It is the first block planned for Folkestone's coastline - with several more plots to be created on the beach right up to the Harbour Arm.
Some of these are currently going through the consultation and planning process.
Last year, plans for the final phase of the redevelopment were revealed.
The designs for Plot E, which sits opposite the Grand Burstin Hotel, feature a mix of one- to four-bedroom flats and houses in a development of about 100 properties.
Most of the new homes will have views facing either the sea or the harbour, and they will be built around what has been described as a "tree-filled podium garden".
The proposed development on Plot E will include a minimum of 150 car parking spaces for residents, split over two levels and constructed under a garden.
An overall masterplan for the harbour and seafront was approved in 2015 and envisages up to 1,000 new homes on the coast, as well as space for businesses.
The first residents could move into Shoreline as soon as the spring.
These are not the only pricey apartments being built in Folkestone.
A three-bedroom penthouse with a sea view has been put on the market for almost £3 million - even before being built.
The “luxury” flat will form part of the controversial Leas Pavilion development.
The 91 apartments are being built as part of a modern overhaul of the Grade II-listed former Victoria theatre.
